Left Roseville 11:15 AM and settled at a Flying J campground in Battle Mountain, NV, about 5:45 PM. Long mostly uninteresting drive, Marcia got a good nap; when she awakened I made her drive so I could also nap. The campground is all gravel with many very old trailers, clearly fulltimers. Not sure what people do for work here – possibly mining.
Battle Mountain is at 4500 ft however you have no sense of it – everything is flat, with mountains still ahead of us. We went to the casino adjacent to the Flying J and had a class of wine (red, very chilled) and a lot of second hand smoke. Dinner in the A/S – very nice turkey sandwich, and a couple chocolate chip cookies.
