Our travels by Airstream to Oakland for Thanksgiving 2007. Why did it take so long? We drove east to Delaware, joined a WBCCI Airstream "Southeast Coast Spectacular" caravan down the eastern seaboard, and drove home to California for Thanksgiving.
The Bodie lighthouse was built in 1872. Named Body at the time, it became Bodie somewhere along the way but is still pronounced locally as Body.
The marsh areas surrounding the lighthouse grounds are teeming with birds, but because of the high cover we mostly could only hear them.
