Pee what? (NC)

Today we prowled around the Pea island National Wildlife Refuge after a liberal dose of deet, then went on to Roanoke for a look at the earthworks of the 17th century Fort Raleigh and a very pleasant bike ride.

The first picture is of Marcia receiving instruction from avid birders Nancy and Robert. The second photo is of an unidentified older gentleman. The third photo is of a blind man recording bird sounds.

Dinner was again at the Full Moon in Manteo on Roanoke Island. Our server recognized us, said she’d love to have an Airstream. Turns out she was an extra in the Richard Gere movie Night in Rodanthe, Rodanthe being the small town bordering Waves and formerly known as Chicamacomico. It was filmed during a Nor’easter in April, until 3 in the morning, freezing cold, with stand-ins for the big names. They insisted that she wear a frilly dress.

  1. Be careful, Cam......you could be mistaken as a "birder" if you continue looking through those binoculars like that! ;-)

  2. I think I can ID the "older gentleman". His profile looks very much like Sean Connery.
